4th of July
It's time again for America to celebrate our freedom and independence from England.
Some people try to claim that the 4th of July is pagan. But I have researched this several times over the years and I have repeatedly concluded that this is a false accusation, and there is NO evidence to support the claim. The origin of the 4th of July American holiday is well documented. We know it's all about independence from England. I encourage people to celebrate and have fun and live life. Some people try to claim that we are not citizens of the nations that we live in, but only citizens of The Kingdom of GOD. But Paul never denounced his citizenship from Rome, and even Jesus paid taxes to Caesar. There is nothing wrong with recognizing that we are in deed citizens of the nation we live in. There is nothing wrong with remembering & celebrating that Jesus gave America victory in the Revolutionary War and established this great nation. The 4th of July should be used by all Americans as a time of celebration and thanksgiving to Jesus Christ, the one who establishes all kingdoms and determines the outcome of all wars. However, I do NOT believe that fireworks is acceptable. I caution against the use of fireworks, and the watching of firework displays. I believe that it's a form of fire worship, looking up in the sky, admiring the fire. It's also a very sinful waste of money and very frightening to animals. When there are people starving to death, and people in need of their very first bible, the last thing that we should do is to burn money in the sky and applaud it. Americans should be ashamed of their selves for supporting such a huge waste of money. Personally, we will be downtown all day listening to country music, bluegrass music and gospel music and eating yummy sugar filled treats (that's NOT a sin!!!!) and watching a wonderful parade of veterans and other Americans celebrating our heritage and freedom. But we will leave early before the fireworks.
