2 Chron. 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
That was primarily specific to that day and time and events that occurred thousands of years ago. There's nothing in the context specific to the end times of our generation.
People would then claim, "yes but God doesn't change. He's the same today." But that would ignore God's master time plan and things THAT MUST HAPPEN in the chosen last generation.
Joel 2:10-19
:14 who knows if God may change his mind and not bring the tribulation?
Joel is speaking based upon his own experience with God being merciful.
Joel is not God. Joel asks "what if" or "who knows".
God doesn't say in these verses that we can possibly prevent the Great Tribulation.
Matt. 24:34 This generation shall not end until all this be fulfilled.
If this is the generation chosen for the end time, then it's impossible for it to not be fulfilled in completeness.
Nineveh was only one city thousands of years ago.
Some people use the example of Nineveh's repentance to say that we could also repent and not face the Great Tribulation.
But in our time, we are talking about the entire world needing to repent, not just one city! The entire world is NOT going to repent. We must accept this reality!
To think that we could possibly stop the Great Tribulation and/or the opening of the 5th seal, the plagues of the 4th seal, the invasions, or the end times, is foolishness! We can't stop any of these things!
Jeremiah 15:1-2
Ezekiel 14:12-20: Even if the original prophets of the bible were to have prayed for the nation, the destruction would still come. In fact, Jeremiah prayed and yet God still brought Babylon to destroy Jerusalem.
How much more so today with today's wickedness!
Joel is not alive today. If he was, he would tell you the same as I am saying.
He was speaking from his perspective of thousands of years ago. He could not fully understand events of our time.
We are alive now! We should have eyes to see and ears to hear and common sense, that not the entire world, nor even one entire nation, nor even one entire city is going to repent! We can barely even get 2-3 people in one same city to repent!
IF the entire world repented, yes, but it isn't going to happen and God knows that about the last generation and basically said so when He said that all things WILL be fulfilled in the last generation.
Once the 7 seals started to open around 1901, there was no turning back.

False prophets who are stealing my materials and stealing God's prophecies and refuse to work in full cooperation with me and who are proclaiming that we could stop the coming Great Tribulation, must themselves repent and stop adding to the word of God and stop playing "prophets", because the fact is, they are not called by God. They work out of "selfish ambition" instead of working with me as a team; and instead of recognizing God's authority in me.
